This year, we will be present at the 6th edition of the IPCE Conference – Intercontinental Personal Care Excellence – to be held on 7-8 June in Sardinia, at Villasimius, where multiple researchers from different continents will gather to explore scientific innovation topics in cosmetics.

The event will focus on “Cosmetic technology transition: the dawn of a new era“; a topical theme that looks at research in the cosmetics sector with an eye to the future, looking at product and technological innovations, and consumer needs.

Giovanna Pressi, Scientific Director of Aethera Biotech, will participate in the event with a poster entitled ‘Standardised phytocomplex of Perilla frutescens derived from in vitro cell cultures: maintenance of skin integrity and use in vaginal gel formulations‘. The Congress will allow us to present the study carried out on an innovative phytocomplex obtained from plant cell cultures of Perilla frutescens, an annual herbaceous plant of the Lamiaceae family, native to East Asia and particularly cultivated in Japan, China, and Korea.

Perilla frutescens is a medicinal plant with anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. It is also known as the ‘plant of youth‘ due to its ability to intervene in the cell regeneration process, keeping the skin healthy and beautiful during skin aging process.

The study aims to prove the effectiveness of the Perilla frutescens phytocomplex – ReSILiEMcare CROP®-G – and to test its ability to maintain skin integrity and its use in cream-gel formulations for the intimate area.

Through in vitro and in vivo tests, the anti-inflammatory and protective activity of the skin barrier of the Perilla frutescens phytocomplex was demonstrated, as well as its ability to improve the total hydration and elasticity of the vaginal mucosa, for a total well-being of the intimate area.
