This year, we will be present at the II edition of the Safe & Sustainable Seminar, organized by the Italian Society of Chemistry and Cosmetological Sciences (SICC). We are proud to join this important event in the Italian territory, which provides the opportunity to discuss increasingly relevant topics in the cosmetic field, such as safety and sustainability in all stages from designing to developing a new product.
Giovanna Pressi, Scientific Director of Aethera Biotech, will take part to the event and will present the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study undertaken in collaboration with SpinLife, a spin-off of the University of Padua. Environmental sustainability and ethical responsibility are gaining more and more importance in beauty and personal care. However, effectively communicating the sustainability of products and/or processes in a clear and standardized manner remains an ongoing challenge for companies. In the near future, companies are expected to be more inclined to adopt transparent communication practices, which are growingly demanded by both industry and consumers.
The Seminar will be an opportunity for us to share the journey of evaluating the environmental impacts we have started through the LCA study based on the analysis of 16 categories of environmental impact. This study, the only one in the field of plant-cell cultures for cosmetic ingredients production, represents the first step towards a continuous improvement process to provide evidence of our performance and highlight the potential of the CROP® biotechnology platform for the production of safe, effective, and sustainable cosmetic ingredients.
