Growing consumer awareness of ingredients that support the well-being of the immune system is driving the cosmetics, supplement, functional food, and beverage sectors towards innovation.

Consumers are increasingly aware of the impact that diet and healthy lifestyle choices have on their bodies and health. In parallel, this same awareness involves the cosmetics and self-care products sector that can contribute – through a holistic approach – to strengthening the immune system. The prediction, according to studies surveyed by BeautyStreams, is that there will be a growth in demand for cosmetic products that focus on immunity, emotional and hormonal balance, to protect the skin from external stress factors, supporting the body’s natural defenses.

Beautiful skin = healthy skin: the role of the skin barrier

The skin consists of three distinct layers: epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis (subcutaneous tissue). The epidermis is the part that performs the skin’s primary barrier function, acting as a protective shield against external stress factors such as pollution, sun exposure, irritation, inflammation, and moisture loss. In addition to external factors, the skin barrier can be weakened and altered by other factors, such as aging, stress, hormonal changes, or an incorrect lifestyle and diet. This can lead to an imbalance of the microbiome, and consequently to lowered immune defenses.

Given the awareness of the correlation between skin health and the health of one’s immune system, skin hydration and protection through specific ingredients are gaining more and more interest among consumers and operators in the cosmetics industry.

Protection and balance for the skin: Forsythia suspensa and Rosa canina

Our phytocomplex derived from meristem cells of Forsythia suspensaForsINgen CROP®-G – titrated in total polyphenol content expressed as verbascoside equivalent, acts with profound antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, balancing acne-prone skin and supporting hydration for a purifying effect.

ROSeout CROP®-G is our phytocomplex derived from Rose canina meristem cells titrated in total polysaccharides and gallic acid derivatives and has a stable antioxidant activity comparable to that of Vit. C, a molecule also known as a stimulator of collagen synthesis, helps to strengthen our immune system and hinder the formation of free radicals, reducing cellular aging; the active enhances the skin texture for dull skin in need of a vitality booster.

Collagen stimulation and functional hydration, the keys to healthy skin: Echinacea purpurea and Rosa chinensis

Starting with meristem cells of Echinacea purpurea, we have developed a phytocomplex – EchinAge CROP®-G – titrated in total polyphenols expressed as chicoric acid equivalents that counteract inflammaging and improve skin firmness by increasing the expression of the collagen IV gene, preventing skin aging.

AQ3Rose CROP®-G, a phytocomplex of meristematic cells of Rosa chinensis titrated in total polysaccharides and phytocollagen, is also dedicated to protecting and nurturing the skin’s wellbeing. Thanks to its ability to increase the expression of Collagen III and IV genes and to boost Aquaporine-3 levels, AQ3Rose CROP®-G acts with a strong functional moisturizing action by preventing the formation of the first wrinkles, for young and balanced skin.
